PAC Spotlight
The April PAC Spotlight shines on North Hardin High School’s Latisha Atkinson
What do you want to do when you grow up?
Artist and chef(with my own international restaurant) and more.
What have you seen at the PAC?
Alice in wonderland, the wizard of oz, and goldilocks on trial.
What have you participated in at the PAC?
North Hardin plays. I helped with the props and anything that needed assistance including advice about things in the play or set. And as far as plays: Alice in wonderland, the wizard of oz, goldilocks on trial, and our current play the brothers Grimm spectaculathon.
What have been your most rewarding PAC experiences?
My second year I put in so much work and help into the props. Unlike the first and third year I didn’t show up last minute, especially the first year where I really only helped with one thing. I felt like I actually did my part on the time and everyone was so appreciative about and it was so fun to watch and be there for the whole process and see everything go well on the stage. But every year has also felt rewarding.
How have you benefited from the PAC?
The PAC benefitted me by opening my eyes to theater, the roles being played to make a play work, even to the entertainment industry as a whole. I’ve gained a whole new passion for it and it’s thanks to the PAC and my drama club. I met so many people and connected with them. I had so much fun even when things got stressful. It was all good stress and I felt accomplished in working with them. I always thought it was so cool to walk into the PAC and I enjoy every second of it every time like it’s my last and sadly this time it is. But I hope to take my new skills and experience into the world and have some more fun along the way.
Why is the PAC important to you?
Why should the PAC be important to others?
The PAC should be important to others because of experiences like mine and many others. Watching the play happen without looking through a screen is so much more stimulating than I thought it would be. And for the people in the play that gain all types of talents and learn new things about themselves and others. We find new friends and connections. We’re basically family. Not only that but you could find a new passion and learn more about theatre. I think having others rely on you this heavily and you rely on others to make one great big masterpiece is kind of thrilling especially when it all works out. It can be fun and serious but at the end of the day everyone is usually happy and satisfied, audience and cast members.
