Credit Where Credit Is Due
When someone thanks me for all I do at the PAC, I let them know that I don’t do it alone and that what we accomplish at the PAC wouldn’t happen without tremendous help.
So, seeing as Thanksgiving is right around the corner, I’d like to take a moment to give credit where credit is due and thank everyone who makes what we do at the PAC possible:
- The entire Hardin County Schools family supporting our mission by keeping the lights on, the air running, the internet up, and the facility safe and secure;
- The superintendents who recognize our value and push us to strive for even more significant success;
- The school board that envisions academics, athletics, and the arts in balance for the families of Hardin County;
- The PAC’s Producing Partners who financially support quality performing arts experiences for our community;
- The amateur and professional artists and arts groups that fill our stage with entertaining and rewarding experiences for student and adult participants and patrons alike;
- The student and adult volunteers without whose dedication the facility could not function;
- The audiences who return to laugh and cry and cheer time and again; and
- The PAC staff that tirelessly maintains the quality of our performances and the longevity of our facility.
Words fail me for all you have done and continue to do, so I turn to Shakespeare, who had something to say about almost everything:
“I can no other answer make but thanks, and thanks, and ever thanks.”
Audience Survey Winners
Congratulations to Joseph Carothers, Aileen Garris, Virginia King, & Nancy Thomas – each a lucky winner of a $20 PAC gift certificate for completing an Audience Survey last month.
PAC Spotlight – November 2022
This month, The PAC Spotlight shines on Meade County High School senior Abigail Harper, who will be dancing the title role in Allegro Dance Theatre’s production of Cinderella, the ballet on the PAC stage this month.
What do you want to do when you grow up?
I want to get a degree in dance and arts administration to eventually own and teach at my own studio.
What have you seen at the PAC?
Kentucky Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Allegro Dance Theatre’s Peter Pan Jr. and Frozen Jr.
What have you participated in at the PAC?
9 years of Cinderella the Ballet along with Village Street, Coppelia, Heidi, Little Orphan Annie, Twelve Dancing Princesses, Sleeping Beauty, Glass Hearts, excerpts from Don Quixote and Raymonda, and Kentucky Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
What have been your most rewarding PAC experiences?
Going from being a performer on stage to a member of the audience to helping with tech, seeing shows from all angles is amazing.
What did you learn from your PAC experiences?
I learned that there are more people working behind the scenes than anyone would ever imagine. From lighting, music, even changing backdrops, it takes many people to coordinate a successful production.
How have you benefited from the PAC?
I believe that the PAC has played a very large role in shaping me into the person I am today, as it takes responsibility, maturity, and a hard work ethic to pull off a show.
Why is the PAC important to you?
The PAC has given me so many cherished moments in my young life. I am so grateful to be able to call it one of my favorite places to perform.
Why should the PAC be important to others?
It gives a way for the community to come together to appreciate the many different forms of art.
