Other Area Resources
Parents who are searching for art, theatre, dance or music instructors for their children often contact the PAC. Please check out the following suggestions from PAC Director, Bart Lovins:
ACTING
- Hardin County Playhouse has an acting camp every summer and its director, Bo Cecil bocecil@hotmail.com, also does private lessons I believe. They also frequently use students in their productions so ask about upcoming opportunities.
- Youth Theatre of Hardin County does a production at the PAC every summer. They have winter workshops to prepare students for the auditions for each summer's production in January, February & March. Contact Bill or Betty Marsee for more information (270) 765-5421, www.youthteatrehardincounty.com. Please note students must be in the sixth grade or higher and reside in Hardin County to participate.
- Missoula Children's Theatre comes to the PAC every year for a weeklong residency. Auditions are open to any student 1st-8th grade. Please sign up for our email list in order to be notified of auditions next year. www.mctinc.org
- PAC Pro-Am is a self produced musical using local professional and amateur performers at the PAC each fall. We also frequently need students for these productions and again, encourage you to sign up on our email list to learn of upcoming opportunities.
DANCE
There are three dance schools in the area. This is unheard of in a community of our size. I would recommend any of the three:
- Allegro Dance Theatre is located in Radcliff and performs their spring recital at the PAC annually as well as a holiday production of the ballet, Cinderella each year. Allegro is the only dance studio that also offers a musical theatre class for acting and singing. (270) 352-1333, www.allegrodancetheatre.com
- Center Stage is located in Elizabethtown and performs their spring recital at the PAC annually as well as a holiday dance program each year. Center Stage is the only studio that has a competing dance team. (270) 769-5505
- Dance Center of Elizabethtown performs their spring recital at the PAC as well as a holiday production of the ballet, the Nutcracker each year. It is the oldest and most established studio in the area. (270) 765-5464, www.dancecentreelizabethtown.com
PIANO/VOICE
Check with the music teacher at your school for references. I would also recommend Ann Case (270) 737-6217 if she is not accepting new students she may be able to refer you to someone else as well.
STRINGS/INSTRUMENT INSTRUCTION
- Music and Art Center of Cultural Learning. Victor Collins operates this instructional center in Elizabethtown. (270) 234-0007, svcollins@bbtel.com
